San Francisco: Geek Heaven
I arrived in the city on Friday afternoon/evening. Unable to find convenient parking, I left my car in a parking garage a block away, and took only the barest of essentials with me: my laptop and some clothing. While it's not the best idea to leave the rest of my earthly possessions in a shady parking garage, my options are limited. Even if the concierge (who has the freight elevator keys) weren't leaving town tomorrow, I am... so I leave my junk in the hands of the gods. It's mostly books, nearly all of which I have digital copies of, but it would still blow serious chunks to have my car busted into.
Back on track!
I've been here only a few days, and have mostly kept to myself. I've explored the neighborhood, checked out the local shopping and food options, but have otherwise been in my apartment receiving major dosages of network television via iTunes.
Tonight, however, I guess I'm branching out. Boom-family friend Jina Bolton invited me to the WordPress birthday party after she and her boyfriend get done with the Flight of the Conchords show tonight.
I was kind of sketch about going... but since Leah replied to my Pownce note, I suppose that means I have to go.
sigh....
Naturally, I can't be biased, so I'll probably end up going to the Pownce birthday party as well.
Edit: I bailed on the party. Bad case of the Indian Foods.
